    Some Men Just Want To Watch The World Burn

Well, someone has to actually say it. Obama is out to destroy America. It has to be obvious to anyone with an IQ above seaweed (which of course disqualifies those with law degrees from Harvard, Columbia and Occidental College as well as most of Congress). This is a man on a mission from god…whoever his god is. It certainly isn’t the God of this nation.

The “yes, we can” mantra that drove the “change we need” euphoric high called the Obama 2008 election campaign is wearing off and like the crash and burn after too much dope combined with too much alcohol, dazed voters everywhere are coming out of their quasi-intellectual stupors and asking all too regrettably, “What were we thinking?”

Well, the truth is those of you who voted for this clown weren’t thinking. You were actually trying to escape from having to think. You were looking for an easy fix because you have become persuaded that the inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that our forefathers penned in our Constitution are entitlements that come solely from being American citizens and not privileges associated with being a creation of God.

In a very biblical sense, instead of “tending the garden and keeping it” you have been deceived into believing a paid gardener (especially at someone else’s expense) is a better idea and therefore justified. Obama knows this. He was taught during his adolescence (that immature phase everyone but liberals outgrow) God doesn’t work and learned how to convince you he could do better. Like Satan tempting Jesus, Obama promised you the world if you “only fall down and worship me,” so you voted for this gangster and his cronies because you no longer want (or in the case of the 4th and 5th generation welfare generation never want) to be responsible, much less accountable for your choices. Giving up your individual freedom seems a small price for having everything given to you in exchange.

After all, who needs freedom if you have everything you believe defines it? Or if you believe you have never had it to begin with? You took the bait, hook, line and sinker. Problem is, just as Satan’s deception toward Eve in the garden and his promise to Jesus while overlooking the wealth of the world from that high mountaintop, Obama’s freedom is a lie in every sense of the word.

Kris Kristofferson once penned the words, “Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose” in his song “Bobby McGee,” a song made famous by Janis Joplin during the rebellious sixties because, along with many other songs of that era it carried the promise of real freedom, peace and happiness if we just tuned in, turned on and dropped out. A beautiful song with a beautiful intent, sung by a truly beautiful human being.

Janis Joplin died just days after recording this song from a drug overdose. In a very prophetic fashion Janis proved that artificially produced happiness, peace and freedom is fleeting. Conservatives know this. Some of us know because we lived the “free life,” free from responsibility and accountability but a slave to the self-destruction it produces. In the long term Obama’s idea of freedom will steal, destroy and kill in much the same fashion. (Warning: College students need to swear off Bruce Springsteen, Bono and Sting like a bad church experience or risk a similar fate).

Others of you voted for Obama because of your hatred for George Bush. You believe Bush is the devil because of his ties to Saudi oil, his aristocratic heritage that may or may not have kept him out of Vietnam, his obsession with destroying Saddam Hussein because he threatened his father, his Texas demeanor, his choice of friends (Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Rice, Ashcroft, Gonzales), his crooked smile, his dopey way with the English language (I miss Bushisms if not the man). You were so intent on letting everyone know how much you hated “Dubya” that you actually chose the “…greater of 2 evils” simply out of vindication. Given what we now see today would it have really been that bad if McCain had won…or even Hillary?

The worst that could happen with McCain in office is a political stalemate, which is actually what we need in government now instead of letting them try to fix something they actually broke to begin with. If Hillary were there she would be spending her time keeping an eye on the interns in the White House…away from Bill in between heart surgeries. Oh, she might join Al Gore in the climate change fiasco but otherwise she would be harmless. She has already learned the political pitfall of healthcare reform. But you had to let your anger get the better of you.

Obama recognized this anger in you because he too knows anger and hatred. But unlike you he has been taught by his Pastor and socialistic mentors how to go beyond vetting and learned to channel his anger and hatred toward an end. Using the false religion of Black Liberation Theology he has convinced a majority of Godless Americans that Jesus and Obama have the same righteous intent in mind, to redistribute wealth and eradicate racial hatred in the world. And he would do it at the expense of the Sadducees and Pharisees of our time, white corporate America, represented of course by the evil George Bush.

A simple task actually. As a scapegoat Bush was readily available. He seemed oblivious to what others thought of him which allowed too many in America the time to be conditioned to hate him. Bush was a ready made effigy for Obamania. And you gave him the matches. And like the eternal flame that stands over the grave of JFK, Obama keeps Bush’s effigy burning whenever questioned on the seemingly ineffectiveness and ulterior motives of his administration and policies.

All this in such a short span of time. This is another thing Obama knows - the effectiveness of moving fast. He has been taught well by academia that Americans are slow to respond to political strategies because we are too busy working, raising children and watching American Idol. Talk fast and move quickly before someone figures it out, because once the sleeping giant is aroused death is quick and certain.

Even as you Obamaniacs realize his party is over and it's time to get up off the floor and go home, Obama, like a designated driver continues to try to get you to trust him, prodding you to quickly get in the car with him, to take yet another shot of his spiked Kool Aid, hoping you stay dazed just long enough for him to drive you to a destination other than where you think you are going. There's a reason Obama is the only one who doesn't drink at his own party.

The destination is Obamaland, the land of socialist ideals and order. The land of economic reparation for the culturally challenged, where individualism is irrelevant and therefore surrendered in the name of the common good of all. Utopia complete with everything guaranteed to keep you dumbed down and doped up. Just the way liberals like it.

I know the liberals, activists and race-baiters will screech from the highest perch of their padded cells that I am an elitist, racist, ignorant white supremacist who only wants the rich to get richer, the poor to get poorer, the unsaved to convert to Judeo Christianity and George Bush to become our king. To that I say, “Whatever blows your skirt up”.

That doesn’t change the fact Obama wants to destroy America. And that you who voted for him did it out of your own selfishness, ignorance and/or disregard. You gave him license. You bought the scam.

“And what proof do you have, you racist moron, you doomsayer, that what Obama wants to change is not for the better, that his motives nothing but honorable, his methods nothing short of ingenious?” I hear the self proclaimed intellectuals ask smugly as they polish their Obama idols. “To what end and for what reason would Obama want to destroy America?” Well, to answer that simply take a look at his actions.

Change Rather Than Reform – In the preamble of the Declaration of Independence the authors felt it necessary to address their reason for wanting to “change” their government. "…Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [unalienable rights], it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Note our founding fathers listed 2 options here regarding their consent to be governed; “…to alter or to abolish”. There was nothing that gave them hope as to being able to “alter” or reform government in a more amicable fashion with the British Empire. This was because they had no voice, no representation, nor any forum in which to address their grievances regarding their rights not only as British citizens, but as individuals. There was no longer any reason to consent to British government. So they chose to abolish or “change” their government to one of self-rule. That is not the case of our government. We are not without recourse. Yet. That will change if Obama has his way. Obama can’t afford reform, he must have change in order to accomplish his agenda.

You see, Obama tries to sell us the idea that this is the state of our government today and that is why he is out to “reform” government when in fact he is out to “abolish” or “change” it simply because he does not like it. A better word for “change” is “destroy”. He claims that our rights as individuals have been taken from us by forces much bigger than ourselves, or in some cases never existed at all. But in actuality Obama believes the rights of the individual are only valid as they pertain to the common welfare of the whole. This is a valid argument when speaking of the necessity of moral law. But not the inalienable rights in our Constitution.

If enterprise or merit puts one person or group over another it needs to be regulated or dismantled and replaced with something that keeps everyone “equal”. This is his whole argument behind his redistribution of wealth philosophy, a philosophy I refer to as a “reparation mentality”, nothing more than his own brand of racism and hatred.

Unfortunately if this type of equality is embraced, there is no longer a need for anyone to strive to better themselves. Society will indeed become equal – equally ineffective and equally enslaved. Healthcare and Financial Institution “reform” is not reform but the destruction of a system (good though not perfect) to be replaced with another (proven historically to be neither good or perfect). Nationalism replaces free market, socialism replaces capitalism. To what end?

The argument as to whether these “reforms” will be more effective and less expensive thereby more accessible to more is mute. The real argument is whether the change Obama proposes will enslave because eventually there will be no individual choice or merit allowed. Individual choice, free enterprise, open disagreement and right to personal wealth must be sacrificed. This is true regardless of how many times or how many ways he and his comrades try to convince us otherwise.

Division rather than unity – In order to perpetrate Obama’s “change” toward socialism he must have an enemy that unites the masses. Though he claims to be a unifier it is obvious if you really listen to him, he is actually a divider, a hater who claims to be a lover. White, gun toting Bible pounders are out of touch elitists and racists, Republicans and conservatives are equally resistant to progressive change, desiring only to keep the poor and minorities in their place (with a personal vendetta to destroy Obama), the rich want to get richer at the expense of the poor, American government has too long bullied and occupied other nations rather than embrace everyone’s diversity and way of government. And corporate America is the enemy of all.

The media is the avenue by which he creates his enemies and fights his battle. And make no mistake…it is about him and him alone. Take for example the latest from Marvel Comics. Not the Situation Room for sure but mainstream press just the same. From a recent article I pull this quote: “Issue 602 of the comic [Captain America] features Captain America investigating a right-wing anti-government militia group called "the Watchdogs". Hoping to infiltrate the group, Captain America and his African-American sidekick The Falcon observe an anti-tax protest from a rooftop. The protesters depicted are all white and carry signs adorned with slogans almost identical to those seen today in Tea Party rallies like, ‘Tea Bag Libs Before They Tea Bag You’ and ‘Stop The Socialists.’ The Falcon mentions that the gathering appears to be ‘some kind of anti-tax protest’ and notes that ‘this whole 'hate the government' vibe isn't limited to the Watchdogs.’ He then tells Captain America that he doesn't think their plan will work because ‘I don't exactly see a black man from Harlem fitting in with a bunch of angry white folks.’ "

Accidental you say? Forgivable you claim? Perhaps. And the again perhaps not. In today’s political environment much more than any previous age the media brands, typecasts and passes judgment on any opposition to the liberal agenda in general, Obama’s agenda in particular. This is not by accident and not without reason. Today the media is more about gossip than news. And gossip begets judgment.

Second, the media today is owned and run by the very same people who own and run Obama. The very same people Obama claims are the enemies of America, big, racist bent, powerful corporations. Not the type he speaks to us about. His are the crime syndicates and non-profits that dot our urban skylines throughout America.

The question I asked mid-blog here was “To what end and for what reason would Obama want to destroy America?” Why does he continue to pursue his agenda in spite of the fact America is not only waking up from their stupor but noticing they are going somewhere they don’t recognize or want to go and are beginning to question him and in some places taking action to stop him? What makes this guy tick in the face of inevitable failure?

In the movie, “The Dark Knight”, there is an exchange between Bruce Wayne and Alfred, his butler. Wayne is going through computer banks trying to piece together the motivation behind the Joker’s reign of terror. The exchange goes like this:

WAYNE: “Criminals aren't complicated, Alfred. We just have to figure out what he's after.”
ALFRED: “Respectfully, Master Wayne, perhaps this is a man you don't fully understand, either. I was in Burma. A long time ago. My friends and I were working for the local government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders, bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. We were asked to take care of the problem, so we started looking for the stones. But after six months, we couldn't find anyone who had traded with him.”
WAYNE: “What were you missing?”
ALFRED: “One day I found a child playing with a ruby as big as a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing the stones away.”
WAYNE: “So why was he stealing them?”
ALFRED: “Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money...they can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

The truth is that as bad as Obama is proving to be, as ineffective and corrupt Congress has become, in the end we are the ones responsible, we the citizens of this Republic, because we are the ones who put them there. We put them there because we didn’t want to be bothered with protecting our liberty. We were more concerned with protecting our own little worlds. What we forget is there are those who are willing to take whatever they can without thought of conscious, prudence or gratitude to those who have given it to them. There are those who just want to watch the world burn. In light of Obama’s arrogant unwillingness to represent those who elected him it makes one think, doesn’t it?

They’ve Come A Long Way, Baby!

I was going to forgo mentioning anything about Heath Ledger’s win at the Oscar’s primarily because so many   
liberals just simply missed my point about why I knew he would win.  I had grown tired of trying to reason with the
rationally challenged.  That reason of course (conservatives understand this) was because he died in the same year he made a movie, thus giving the Academy drawing power by appeasing the low self-esteem of its Board and Members while placating the movie goers by giving them a false sense that, yes, we of the high standing Academy and you of the lowly masses recognize and understand the importance of the work of one of our own, and the tragedy that has taken too many of us because we never stayed in school long enough to learn how to read a prescription label.  Oh yeah, let’s not forget the increased advertising revenue for the Academy and stations.
 
Most wanted to argue that his performance was indeed Oscar worthy and quoted statement’s like the one from Michael Caine in 2007 when he said Mr. Ledger was worthy of Oscar while he was still alive. Of course we all know his statement had NOTHING to do with the fact Mr. Caine was also in the movie and COULD NOT HAVE BEEN promoting the movie by building up a Co-Star in order to look humble but sell the movie at the same time, thus moving Mr. Caine ever so closer to a life time achievement award.  I’m sure when that happens (I do believe he deserves one as he is a great actor) his comments about Mr. Ledger will be part of the collage of scenes and clips we will all be subjected to watch. So I was happy that at least I had predicted he had won and was willing to let it go at that.
 
But then a strange thing occurred. After the Oscars no one talked about Heath anymore.  Sure there was the gratuity piece on Good Morning America about Heath’s family accepting the awards on his behalf (wonder who paid the airfare). But all the buzz was about Sean Penn winning Best Actor for portraying Harvey Milk, some 2 bit camera store owner whose decision to campaign for a place on San Francisco's 2 bit  Board of Supervisors somehow came to be seen as a landmark event within the gay rights movement.  Why was it landmark?  Because he openly admitted he was gay, taking his place right next to Rosa Parks as a great civil rights pioneer.  Being gay IS about civil rights isn’t it and NOT about being gay, right?
 
Anyway, I was watching this part of the Oscar program (I usually don’t watch at all but I was so rooting for Kate Winslet in “The Reader” an absolutely outstanding movie in my opinion) and stayed after she accepted to see who would win the Best Actor.  Here is an excerpt of Penn’s acceptance speech: “Thank you. Thank you...  You commie, homo-loving sons-of-guns. I did not expect this, but I, and I want it to be very clear, that I do know how hard I make it to appreciate me often. But I am touched by the appreciation and I hoped for it enough that I did want to scribble down, so I had the names in case you were commie, homo-loving sons-of-guns…”
 
Then it hit me!  Heath Ledger had instantly been trumped by a 2 bit, second rate homosexual politician, and the 2 bit second rate actor that portrayed him.  The echoes of acclaim we have been subject to about Heath as a consummate professional, a tender soul, a great father were suddenly irrelevant in the face of this revelation that Hollywood is indeed the breeding place of commie, homo loving sons of guns…and we couldn’t be prouder as the crusaders for the gay rights the right wing, narrow-minded, Christian rednecks so much hate and want to destroy.
 
Then I thought to myself, ”Hey  didn’t  Heath also win an Oscar  for  playing a gay cowboy?”  I checked and discovered that he was only nominated and lost to Philip Seymour Hoffman who won for playing Truman Capote, the mysterious but famous gay author of “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” and “Cold Blood”.
 
And then, wait a minute!  Let me check something else here.  Ah, yes.  Praise God for all you commie, homo loving sons of guns.  It was 10 years ago this year when we witnessed Hillary Swank accepting the Oscar for “Boys Don’t Cry” a story based on the murder of a gender confused girl in Nebraska.  I remember that speech going something like this:  “Indeed we have come a long way…” affirming that indeed Hollywood was way ahead of the rest of us moral dweebs because they could now openly portray gay people and be lauded and even awarded for it.
 
Now before you commie, homo loving sons of guns put a petition together to have me removed form the airways via “The Fairness Doctrine” as a service to other commie, homo loving sons of guns, hear me out. 
 
I personally could care less what Hollywood does or believes.  My life does not revolve around the political opinions, actions and activism of people who spend their entire lives portraying people other than themselves as a form of therapy to build their self-esteem (remember Sally Field…”you like me…you really like me.”).  Although I enjoy all types of movies, I have never bought into the illusion that these people are somehow more balanced, better educated and more in tune with what the world lacks and needs simply because they can act.  Most of them never even finished school because when they were in school liberalism had not yet become the mainstay of the curriculum.  I like movies but they don’t rock my world (well, maybe Kate Winslet).
 
My point being it is great that Hollywood now openly admits it is a place where commie, homo loving sons of guns can find a home and be accepted for what they are and are not…as long as they continue to make money for those that run Hollywood.  The movie “Milk” did make money didn’t it?  I don’t know.  I didn’t see it.  Don’t know of anybody who did.  Except maybe James Lipton who may have paid the $13 million the movie grossed just for the opportunity to interview Penn once again on his show, “Inside The Actor’s Studio”.  $13 million.  Isn’t that what Kate Winslet earns per movie?
 
After being scolded by Jeff Spicoli (Sean’s character in “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”) that “…I need to reflect and anticipate my great shame and the shame in my grandchildren’s eyes”,  I would like to suggest, in the spirit of tolerance and acceptance 2 new movie ideas that could be developed in Hollywood over the next 2 years.  This would ensure gay themed movies run consecutively in order that the “commie, homo loving sons of guns” in Hollywood can appease their egos, build their self-defined intellect and inspire even greater humanistic endeavors to greater heights in the name of activism.
 
“Here I Come…Ready Or Not” – Starring Jim Carrey as Gavin Newsome. Watch as a young Newsome rises through the ranks of San Francisco politics, a heterosexual millionaire winemaker entrepreneur who discovers he would rather be a popular homosexual politician.  Appointed by Willie Brown as Traffic Commissioner in 1996, Gavin transforms parking lots and alleys into safe havens for the homeless and gays that live and hang out there. This inspires him to later become Mayor in order that he can spread the gospel of clean, safe parking lots everywhere in Northern California and then the nation. “As California goes…so does the rest of the nation.”  Determined to see Proposition 8 overturned young Gavin uses his newly discovered talents as a now bi-sexual politician to convince every member of the California Supreme Court and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger that California can only become “green” after it has become “gay”.

“Barney Frank…Congressional Man Of Mystery” – I’m seeing Dustin Hoffman here as Barney Frank.  Watch Congressman/Secret Agent Frank slide in and out of the political underworld (and beds) with apparent ease while at the same time withstanding the ridicule of the right wing conservative bastards that would keep him from heading the House Financial Services Committee. Using the threat of sexual harassment, discrimination and bathroom stall encounters to get the lending industry to fund homes for people who can’t afford them and of course gays everywhere that want to own a home and adopt children, Frank, along with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Chris Todd manufacture an economic meltdown 3 weeks before their man Barak Obama is due to lose an election.  Making sure their secret plan remains undetected they initiate counter-intelligence that lays the blame for the meltdown on Republicans while in tangent going about silencing those who would dare to speak the truth and uncover their diabolical scheme.  Of course using Dustin Hoffman as the main character would allow for us to fall in love with this awkward lisp speaking imp just like when he played “Dolly” another cross dressing character which got him an Oscar nod.  So that is my contribution to the commie, homo-loving sons of guns in Hollywood.  And you liberals thought us conservatives don’t get it.

HOW TO UNDERMINE A REPUBLIC

​I began a series of broadcasts last month on the topic called 
“How To Undermine A Republic” in hope that I could make a small contribution to the conservative revival I see taking place since the coronation of the messiah Barack Obama and his socialist cohorts. The thought was to video tape the series and post them on You Tube (for that is where the liberals hang out) and then on my website for conservatives that would want to take the time to relearn (or in some “moderate” cases) learn what real conservatism is.

Unfortunately as is the case in most instances today, learning about the principals upon which our American heritage is established is not as entertaining as learning where Michelle Obama shops for tennis shoes. The response was less than inspiring, to say the least…especially with the You Tube crowd. If you view the top videos on this and other liberally owned and saturated mediums you will see that unless you can compete with gay beauty pageant judges, Jimmy Kimmel or the biggest celebrity since Elvis (you KNOW who I am talking about) it is difficult to get the message out effectively. And frankly most liberals are not insightful enough to say anything other than I’m an idiot…a confirmation to me I AM hitting the mark when someone stands long enough to let me aim.
So upon reflection I thought a better idea would be to circulate this information in my monthly blogs (yes, I AM going to get this out monthly in spite of the many distractions associated with producing, writing and airing the broadcast) and that way it might be better disseminated and digested at your leisure. My hope is you take it and spread it as you would the gospel because frankly unless we take back our government we may soon find ourselves as Christians in exile preaching from an underground church. I don’t know about you but I am not excited about martyrdom given the fact that life is already difficult enough. So here goes.

History records that when the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, a Mrs. Powel approached Benjamin Franklin and asked him, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?” Dr. Franklin quickly responded, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”Dr. Franklin was rather prophetic in that today, the Republic of the United States of America is in danger of being destroyed at the hands of those who seek to undermine its godly principles and charters. Under the deceitful guise of democracy, fueled by populist strategies, relative moral truth and unsequestered ambition we find the philosophy of liberalism, a belief system that has not only proven scriptural and historically to lead to some form of oppressive tyrannical monarchy much like the one Mrs. Powell feared the day she spoke with Dr. Benjamin Franklin, but the eventual demise of every government infrastructure that has employed it as their form of rule.

I believe our forefathers would be greatly distressed at the turn of events that have occurred since Franklin Roosevelt usurped the constitutional check and balance system our forefathers labored so hard to create. As we watch our new President attempting to rewind and reenact Roosevelt’s plan at almost breathtaking speed surely Dr. Franklin would turn to someone and say, “I think they may have lost it.”  Our Constitution and Bill of Rights were established on the premise that the human race is unique in that it was created by God and solely for God’s purpose. Unlike the animal kingdom that liberal activists seem to think is essential to our continued existence and the salvation of the universe we humans were given the task of glorifying God to the heavens and to be a “peculiar people” that would forever be in His presence and share in His glory.  We were commanded by Him to “have dominion, subject and rule” (Genesis 1:28) over this world not be dominated, subjected and ruled by it. With this peculiarity as the central point and purpose of our existence we have also been endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, promises of blessing for obedience and authority as well as the responsibility and accountability that accompany such an assignment.

Liberalism preaches God has become outdated and not in step with the needs of today’s world.
Therefore the liberal agenda as one that seeks to undermine God’s plan, purpose and replace it with their own agenda not unlike the one Satan employed in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve.There, Satan successfully deceived man into rebelling and thus separating himself from God by getting him to think there was a better way to exist aside from God, convincing both man and woman they could set up a Utopian society in which they would “…be like God.” (Genesis 3:5). His strategy has not changed. He continues to exert that same deceptive influence, only now through liberalism, a philosophy that promises a utopian society in which everyone lives a trouble free, self-fulfilling life where we all just get along.

Rather than God’s Word being the central compass by which we are to govern, the liberal mindset is one of legalistic deconstructionism. Equality and opportunity have been redefined as a “level playing field,” where redistribution is the method by which everyone obtains their desires in spite of their lack of dedication to God, their lack of educational pursuit, their self-serving motivation and self-rationalizing desire to avoid any and all responsibility and accountability for their actions. After all, responsibility can’t be part of God’s plan if He is perfect because there is so much imperfection in the world. And if it is not God’s plan then it’s anybody’s guess whose plan it is. Many may be shocked to see what is happening today in America.

But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” – Norman Thomas, 1948 Presidential Campaign

Norman Thomas saw something probably only a few saw at that time. That being, that given the right propaganda Socialism could not only thrive in our Republic, it could someday rule.So how does one undermine a Republic? Like a Muslim terrorist working in a sleeping cell they patiently plan and then wait for the opportunities handed them by carelessness of those they oppose. There are 3 phases that must be accomplished in order to undermine a Republic. I will cover the first one here and the last two in next month’s blog. 1) Correct Current Behavior of Individual 2) Corrupt Current System To Justify Behavior Correction 3) Indoctrinate Youth. 

Correct Current Behavior of Individual – Correcting the current behavior of the individual is paramount to undermining a Republic, for the very foundation of a Republic is holding in high esteem the value and worth of the individual. Liberals either deceitfully or unknowingly (depending on whether you are the deceived or the deceiver) claim they hold the individual in the high regard but the truth is their perception of the value of each human being is only as good as their contribution to the whole, masking the real belief each individual should surrender their identity for the common good. Individual achievement for one’s self alone is considered counter to what is morally right.Today we know this behavioral correction as “political correctness” which demands we tolerate everyone’s beliefs and opinions even if they are counter productive or even destructive to our core principles and values. Rather than requiring those who wish to pursue the benefits we have as American citizens to assimilate into our society, today’s liberal calls for us to assimilate their beliefs into our way of thinking.The thing that has always fascinated me about political correctness is that it is always initiated by a small minority, who influence and wear down the majority. Liberal activism is the usual instrument implemented for political correctness. I think of liberal activism as a child throwing a temper tantrum when they don’t get what they want. They scream, kick and holler until eventually the reason that the adult holds just succumbs in order to get rid of the noise and bother.But when we adults give in to the bratty child, the relief is only temporary. The child learns he/she is in control as long as they throw a fit when they want something. The child develops no true value system or moral compass because tolerance for bad behavior teaches everything is acceptable if you scream loud enough. There is nothing by which to measure right and wrong, productive and counter-productive, constructive and destructive. Such is the liberal mindset today. Everything is gauged by feelings and desires by both the adult and child with no thought of long term consequences.That is how I see liberal leadership and activism in today, as either adults who can or will no longer control the child or a child that will not be controlled. It consists of both adults and children who need correction but the adults do not want to be held responsible for their lack of action toward the child nor do they want to be responsible for the actions of the child. Which brings us to the second element of behavior correction:

Spinning Correction As Compassionate Sacrifice – The second element of behavior correction requires the correction be painted as sacrifice rather than subjection. Going back to our our unruly child, the problem is that some individuals don’t like to be around them and may even voice this displeasure to the parent of the child. But instead of acting like responsible adults by taking their child aside and saying, “Enough is enough…go to your room until you can act like right”, they make excuses for the child, wrongfully expecting everyone to accept the child’s behavior out of compassion for the child. It’s not the child’s fault they are not responsible. And it’s not the adult’s fault because after all, don’t children, as human beings have the same rights as adults?But then one day the child grows up and becomes not only unruly, but also an undisciplined, high maintenance individual. And everyone looks, shakes their head and says, “Someone needed to discipline that child.” By then it is too late. The child turned adult becomes the victim and the victim is always miserable, making everyone else miserable in the process. To avoid criticism and taking any responsibility for the child’s behavior, the adult begins to propagandize by trying to make those who disapprove of the child’s behavior guilty about questioning the child’s actions.

THE TROUBLE WITH TRUTH

​Bill Clinton: ‘Vast right-wing conspiracy’ as ‘virulent’ as ever” cries the headline from CNN News after former President Clinton (and recently chosen celebrity judge on the upcoming ABC reality show, “So You Think You’re An Intern”) recently toured the Sunday News Show circuit, (the exception of course being Fox News).

I felt a bit of nostalgia as I read the article, being reminded of those days when mainstream media worshipped him as America’s ”real first black President (ABC = All About Clinton, NBC = Nothing But Clinton, CBS = Clinton Broadcasting System) as well as how much Americans like myself so loved to hate him and his wife.  One thing you can say about Clinton. Until Obama was planted on the scene (…still haven’t figured out who created this guy), no one was better at playing the victimization card. It’s just too bad Hillary was trumped with the race card (proving Obama is better at spinning, God help us) or we wouldn’t need to wish for the good ole days as we now watch the Obama regime try to destroy the Constitution in the name of social injustice. Yes that vast right wing conspiracy is really something to contend with according to Mr. Bill.

But wait! Across the hall of Clinton’s wife’s office in the White House, Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary speaking for President Obama, disseminates to his propaganda team (referred to as the White House Press Corp.) that those ”Teabaggers” (aka, right wing zealots) are just a small group of “Astroturf” (meaning false) operatives placed randomly among the masses to disrupt “civil debate” on Obama’s purposed socialized takeover plan of healthcare.

Seemingly to be in constant damage control mode when dealing with legal, tax paying American citizens, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard Gibbs and other Obamanites recite from their talking points that Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than an entertainer, Sean Hannity a product of biased news reporting 
(aka Fox News) and Glenn Beck is a raving lunatic (which begs the question then, “What does that makes Keith Olbermann?”). Yet, while decrying Limbaugh’s irrelevance, Gibbs often suffers from ”slip of the tongue” disease as he recently did when he referred to Limbaugh as ”…the head of the Republican Party” after Michael Steele (Chairman of the RNC) apologizes for remarks he made in an attempt to defuse Limbaugh’s public identity and influence by saying Limbaugh is non-representative of the GOP.

In another trivial pursuit (meaning he always emphasizes Limbaugh is trivial) Gibbs joked that Limbaugh ”…must have been busy” in an attempt to marginalize the effectiveness of Dick Cheney’s anti-Obama tour that has been ongoing since he left office. It seems as though as much as they say they hate Limbaugh, much like we once hated the Clintons, they need him for their spin machine. And dare I say at this point I miss the Clintons in the White House?

While back in the concrete jungle known as Obama headquarters (can we still call it the White House or do we refer to it as “Obama’s Hood?”?) Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett walks point (to borrow from Gibbs, I guess David Axelrod was busy) launching a full scale search and destroy mission on Fox News even though the Obama administration claims the only people watching it are those “Un-American, unpatriotic, uninformed, fear baiting taxpayers” who ”…cling to their guns and religion” begging the question, “Why worry about such a small minority whose vote you are never going to get?

Even smokin’ Joe Biden gets into the act, doing his bit to espouse the evil of conservative America, unleashing another episode of terminal ”foot in mouth disease”, by asking the question, ”Who cares what Cheney thinks?” (Biden always reminds me of how Lyndon Johnson must have felt when he was demoted from Governor of Texas to VP under John Kennedy. Ever notice how often he reiterates that Obama takes him seriously and really, really, really does ask his opinion on everything, even though he doesn’t “always” take his advice, believing I guess, we care what he thinks).

And then there is of course, the Sarah Palin problem. Though the White House (as well as the media) continually attempt to portray her as out of touch non-entity and actually nothing more than an over estrogen driven, bi-polar afflicted soccer mom, she is continually being brought up whenever Obama speaks to detractors on how health care is the perfect cure for what ails America. To all of these concerted efforts I say, “Ya know, you liberals need to make up your mind. Either the conservative movement is or it isn’t. Either it is a vast conspiracy or it is nothing but a bunch of inconsequential rednecks out to take their frustrations out on “…that colored kid in the White House.”
To those of us who live their lives without jackass logo painted blinders on, we know what is happening. The recent elections in New York, Virginia and New Jersey tell us what is happening. The polls tell us what is happening. The media even leaks it once in a while (between “Dancing With The Stars episodes and the latest breaking news on Jon and Katy’s divorce). The Clintons have it right. There is a vast right wing conspiracy…and it is on the move.

What I find most exciting about the conspiracy is not who is winning or losing or who is out “sound-biting” the other, or even if conservative America wins at the polls and ends up reforming the political landscape of America.  It is the spiritual revival that is occurring across God’s nation. Because below all the surface activity we find the very crux of what is wrong with liberalism. Deceit. Deceit is evil. Deceit is sin. Liberalism is evil because it is based on deceit. This is why I believe liberals don’t have a clue (or do not want to recognize) as to why there is a conservative awakening sweeping America. They have fallen victim to their own deceit because they don’t realize that America is still fairly conservative when it comes to politics. At least when it comes to liberty. We are referred to as the ”silent majority” for a reason. Deceit has infected what little brain cells left in liberals in epidemic proportions. The symptoms are evident, most notably extreme “illusions of grandeur”, that final phase of the terminal disease of victimization that has so well come to identify Democrats.

Deceit is so ingrained in liberals today that feelings associated with victimization have become the gauge of what is right and relevant. Twisted beliefs on what defines equality, prosperity and morality have left those who vote liberal seriously lacking the one answer they seek…and elected liberals void of the one thing they claim to know. I am talking about truth.  The trouble with liberalism is it does not and cannot recognize truth. Many in America cannot recognize it and just as many don’t even desire to recognize it. Why? Because truth carries with it too many problems that conflict with their desires and agendas.

What do liberals see as the problems with truth? There are many but for the purpose of time and space (and to somewhat pacify those who think blogs should be short and only for announcing the next music video from ”Fat, Ugly Dogz Who Think Their Kool” in abbreviated text code) I want to list 3 things liberal America are either unaware or hate about truth.

Truth Is Absolute – Contrary to what liberals have come to believe, truth doesn’t change with progressive perceptions, social legislation, economic standing, gender, race, religion or the latest celebrity rehab stint. Truth is never relative. Truth is as unchanging as the universe is infinite. Maybe even more so, for some day the universe may fall into a black hole, yet truth will still be truth.

Lying is still lying. Stealing is still stealing. God is still God. And socialism never, never, never works. Never has, never will and nothing Obamanites spit from their mouths will change that.  Relativism is what plagues society not only today but since the beginning of time. Satan convinced Eve in the garden that God’s truth was relative because, after all didn’t she want and deserve to be like God? Take a look around. Does anyone really want that job? Can anyone really do it? But relativism is the choice of the day. Why in the face of what we inherently know to be true so many cling to relativism? Because relativism is easier.

It is easier because it is, well, easier. It’s like that saying, ”More people fear success more than failure or there would be more successful people in the world.” Why? Because failure is easier to obtain. Success requires commitment, sacrifice, discipline and diligence, whereas failure requires nothing but an excuse. You need to work for success while you only need to be a victim to enjoy the spoils of relativism.
The promise of reward without effort and responsibility is why many liberals in the world today (especially in the US) hold religious leaders, business executives or those they elect to public office to a higher standard them they hold themselves. Rather than hold one’s self accountable it is easier to hold others accountable and judge accordingly so the issue of dealing with one’s own garbage is put off. The deceived liberal is just along for the ride. But there is a tradeoff for relativism. That tradeoff are the consequences that come with reaping what you sow. Because if you choose to ignore truth, there are those who know how to use your ignorance to affect their own agenda. They are willing to incorporate sacrifice, commitment and diligence but do so by manipulating the lazy. Today’s liberal is nothing more than the collateral damage assessed by those they have elected. And like lazy, dumb sheep they thank those who use them.

I mentioned Bill Clinton at the beginning of this article for a reason. He and Hillary are still great examples of purveyors of relative truth (though I think by this time next year Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Obama regime will by far be a better example). In an article written by Robert Parry during the Democratic Presidential primary in 2007 entitled, ”The Clintons’ Real Trouble with Truth” Parry wrote, ” The Clintons’ trouble with truth, however, is not just the petty political lying nor is it their quibbling over what ‘is’ is or what ‘mistake’ means. It’s that they have never shown any real reverence for the truth. Too often, they see it as something to be traded away for a transitory tactical advantage.”

To the liberal, whether they be a wolf or sheep, truth is a means to an end, not the compass by which one steers the most reliable course. As long as they get what they want in the end the compromise of values, character and lives of others they infect is all justified by their perception of what is right and wrong. We can see this in Barak Obama who was able to take these feelings of victimization and masterfully form an entire campaign around them. His battle cries of ”Yes, We Can” and ”Change We Need” was really ”Yes I Can” and ”Change You Need”. To the dumb sheep which call themselves liberal, progressive intellects this translated in their minds as ”Yes Obama, bring us the change we want, which is to be delivered from responsibility”.

Obama (or whoever created him) has redefined American values to the ignorant because they have no reference point to measure from. His campaign encapsulated the indoctrination that began with the FDR administration allowing him to successfully dope and then dupe a large portion of American citizens with hedonistic illusions of grandeur. He redefined sacrifice and patriotism saying our forefathers got it all wrong, that really what we need is to give up our God given liberty, individuality and purpose for the good of all. The media, acting like empowered drug dealing pimps regurgitate this daily over the airways while liberal America grasps for it like a drug addicted hooker looking for that quick fix that gets them through the day numbing them into a self-induced euphoria.

The truth is liberals really don’t have anything to sacrifice because anything worth sacrificing they’ve already given it up. They have already laid their values along with responsibility on the altar of relative truth in exchange for feeling good. And they do see the hypocrisy if their leaders. Liberals are simply sheep being led to slaughter.

Truth Is Confrontational – If there is anything that we can learn from the political battleground it is that truth always confronts. It always challenges. It always makes us uncomfortable when we are trying to avoid, evade or compromise it.  In today’s world especially we see deconstructionism in almost everything political as well as religious. Liberals need truth to be what they need it to be in order to justify what they want to do. So they simply tear it down, redefine and disseminate what they want you to believe.  We see patriotism, citizenship, rights, necessities, morality all redefined on grand scale.

Patriotism is now paying taxes (redefined as “fair share”), and relinquishing property rights (wealth redistribution) in the name of fairness and equality, even though these were the issues that caused the American Revolution (taxation without representation) in the first place.
Citizenship is now considered simply living here. Acceptance of other cultures and religions, regardless of how they undermine American values, tradition and culture is seen as the human thing to do and paves the way to Utopia. Rather than requiring others to assimilate into American society we change to accept all in the name of diversity, even at the expense of what has made us great.

Necessities are anything that we need to make our life more entertaining and comfortable. If I can’t afford it, it becomes someone else’s responsibility to make sure I get it.

Morality is anything that we like to do, as long as we don’t affect anyone else’s life. How is it that abortion does not affect life when it extinguishes it for no reason other than convenience? When did saving the whales become more important than human life?  There can be no confrontation when dealing with relative truth. Because it is all good. Only fool believes that…or a liberal.

Truth Requires A Response – You have to choose when confronted with truth. And since truth is absolute, you reap what you sow, whether you want to or not. So whether or not you are ready, feel you deserve it or want to avoid it, it is there.  Today we refer to choice as a ”right”. Nothing could be further from the truth. The inalienable rights we read of in the Declaration of Independence are rights in the sense that God established a purpose and destiny of mankind. In that sense they are not ours, but on loan to us. They are actually responsibilities delegated with a limited authority and ripe with consequences and accountability. These rights, however you choose to interpret them are empowered by choice. They are not promises. They are choices. And choice is never a freebie. Neither is liberty or freedom. Something that those who do not pursue real truth have a real problem with. Did I say liberal?

KABUKIOCRACY; OBAMA'S PROMISED CHANGE

​Kabuki Theater:
 Theater known for its stylization of drama and elaborate make-up worn by its performers.  Believed to derive from the verb “kabuku,” meaning "to lean" or "to be out of the ordinary", kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre.
 
Kabuki Dance: In common English usage, a Kabuki dance is an activity or drama carried out in real life in a predictable or stylized fashion, reminiscent of the Kabuki style of Japanese stage play.  It refers to an event that is designed to create the appearance of conflict or an uncertain outcome, when in fact the actors have worked together to determine the outcome beforehand.
 
When President Obama recently stated during a CBS interview that what he liked the least about being President was the “…partisan Kabuki dance at the beginning of meetings,” he was trying to invoke an image so often used these days by all progressive types, whether politicians or media talking heads.  Google Kabuki dance and you will be inundated with articles using Kabuki as a key word or theme, almost all with references to Obama and Congress and all in a negative vein.
 
The image Obama tried to put across in that interview was also negative. He attempted to portray those in Washington as being engaged in the extremely animated, “bizarre” theatre of Kabuki for their own predetermined purposes.  He has on several occasions before and since this interview used this phrase to underscore his distaste for those who continue to oppose the progressive agenda in general and him in particular.   
 
What our Kabuki-In-Chief failed to realize or completely ignored in this interview is how accurate this analogy represents what we see him and his administration do, not only a daily basis these days in regard to the debt ceiling/deficit cutting debate but in almost all issues he is or has been personally involved in.  Maybe that is why the phrase falls off his and his comrades in arms lips so easily.  Obama is correct in his claim the political process we witness today is very much like Kabuki theater.  There are indeed several aspects of Kabuki theater many may not be aware of that does accurately demonstrate the partisan “leaning” actions we as normal everyday people find to be “out of the ordinary” in terms of rationale and reason.
 
First, there is the makeup and wardrobe.  The extravagant makeup is to not only highlight the actor’s expression but to hide their identity.  In Kabuki theatre all players are male, so they cross dress when required and the makeup is to hide features that would detract from the role as female.
 
Second, there is the dance itself.  The music which is played in unison with the actor’s movement serves to accentuate that movement much more than the actor.  Watching the Kabuki dancer prance across the stage to the beat of a rapid drum beat or the sound of strings that accompany a battle brings you into the dance without you being fully aware of where you are headed until the actor reaches his designated spot on the stage or the encounter is completed.  It is then followed by more movement and rhythm as each part of the play gradually translates you into the play as if you are there yourself on the stage.
 
Within this same context we watch politicians try to disguise their true identity as they attempt to bring us into alignment with their motives and agendas.   They cross dress as conservatives, moderates, or in the case of Obama a pragmatic centralist.  Their makeup falsely paint expressions of reason and compassion but really hides the many scars of soulless greed and compromise they bear as a result of trying to survive on the political stage.
 
They move across the stage of pressrooms, news shows, townhall meetings, fund raisers and campaign stops deceptively luring us in with their pied piper accompanied mantras, deceptively trying to convince us we too are players with a part to play in this drama we call life, when in  fact the outcome is already known before the first note is strummed.
 
Obama possesses an ability to perform Kabuki as well as some and better than most.  In just 2 ½ years we have witnessed his administration perform the dance he claims to hold in disdain on both foreign and domestic issues like the old experienced Kabuki icon we see immortalized on many traditional Japanese paintings. 
 
We watched Kabuki theatre portray judicial activism as justifiable in the Supreme Court nominations of Sonya Sotomayer and Elena Kagen.  We listened to the drums beat incessantly until we covered our ears as the Obamacare fiasco was painted as an equality issue that only extreme haters would object to.  We heard the strings strum in unison to the mantra of spreading of democracy in the Middle East.  And most recently and perhaps the best theatre yet is the claim of salvation of our economic system in the debt ceiling/budget deficit talks.

On Monday Kabuki-In-Chief Barack Obama once again put on his white face, donned his pragmatic robe of many colors and took to the stage to inform the American people we are on the verge of economic collapse if indeed Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling and we give him more revenue to spend.
As the mellow strings began to slowly strum Obama began his theater by informing us there is an enemy, an enemy that has too long obstructed the American dream by stealing our money in order to build its own empire.  That would be every President and Congress before him.  The strings begin to strum an upbeat tempo as Obama proceeded to validate his role as our hero by portraying his spending as not the same as those before him but a necessary evil that saved us from the certain destruction his predecessors inflicted upon us.
 
Then the drums kick in as Obama begins to draw us into his plot of wealth redistribution by claiming that he has yet another phase of utopian design but he needs our assistance in making it happen.   He carries us across the stage with him as he claims, “yes we can” win the future if we just give him what he believes he needs to accomplish his messianic mission…more money and a higher credit limit.  As the tempo increases in intensity and sound he finishes his dance by calling us into his scheme, assuring us we will reap the rewards of his counsel and authority.  Are you intrigued?  Have you been sold?
 
One of the definitions we put at the front of this article on Kabuki dancing is: “…an event that is designed to create the appearance of conflict or an uncertain outcome, when in fact the actors have worked together to determine the outcome beforehand.”  I believe when Obama took his oath in January 2009 he truly believed himself to be the ultimate Kabuki dancer, able to convince America he is the hero we have been waiting for, the answer to all things Utopian.  He has demonstrated to us Kabuki dancing at its best.  But now he has to take his dance to a new level.  His popularity is waning, his lack of leadership exposed from the makeup now running down his face from too many hours of frantically dancing across the stage. 
 
The question before us is, “Do we want to Kabuki dance with Obama and his entourage any longer or would we rather sit this one out?”  Let’s hope America gives the correct response in 2012.  After all, very few of us understand Japanese tradition anyway.

Conservatism; A Contemporary Oxymoron In A World Gone Mad

Let me preface this blog with a short history that led me to create "The Conservative Thinker." In 2007 just prior to the announcement from Barack Obama he would seek the office of the President of our Republic I began what was to culminate into a ten year run on radio. "The Conservative Syndicate" aired its first broadcast from a tiny FM outlet in Orange County, California at KTST-FM, an affiliate of American Radio Network that primarily focuses on teaching the ins and outs of radio broadcasting.  The station manager at the time liked my format and offered me a free 1/2 hour every week to expound upon what I was seeing in the political arena.  I remained there for about a year and a half and then teamed up with fellow Christian and radio geek Mark Christian who ran Puka Shell Studios in Garden Grove, California.  Mark's knowledge and experience as a producer allowed the show to expand first to an hour weekly and then 2 hours.  When I decided to change the show into a daily format Monday - Friday shortly after the 2012 election, I set up my own streaming studio out of my home. It was an exciting run, as the show was eventually carried by 9 affiliates globally, reaching approximately 3 million listeners a month in 123 countries. But something happened in 2016 that changed the entire political landscape in America, even more astounding to me than witnessing eight years of Obama attempting to "...fundamentally transform of the United States of America."  That change altered my entire outlook and perspective in regard to whether or not America would recover from Obama's assault on American values and exceptionalism.  That change was the election cycle that gave us Donald Trump as our 45th President. 

One of the first startling revelations I received at the beginning of my 10 year in the radio forum is the lack of willingness by the Christian Church to engage in any real dialogue regarding the advancement of immorality as a civil right from progressive elements hell bent on destroying the very rights that protect their existence and vocation. I witnessed and heard on a far too regular basis from pastors all across California (I should mention I have also been in ministry for 23 years, half of those in some capacity as a pastor that has allowed me some level of access not accessible to the public) that to engage in discourse from the pulpit on the pressing political social issues of our day was taboo. The excuses were varied in their articulation but the three themes generally presented were; 1) fear of government reprisal (IRS) 2) fear of losing congregants, 3) ignorance on what to say. Contemporary Christianity has become a seeker friendly institution where speaking of evil and God's judgment against is now viewed as counter-productive to "saving the lost." Rather than "...creating disciples of all nations" the Church established by Jesus Christ in Matthew Chapter 28 has become a multi-level marketing pyramid scheme where celebrity ministries make virtually millions on their books, tapes and conferences. Millions of "believers" watch their shows and flock to their events looking to receive their share of the Christian blessing and prosperity absent any real effort on their part other than becoming "partners" in this business enterprise. I often refer to this as "The Industrial Christian Complex." 

Because of this one of the projects I and a few other colleagues have undertaken is "The Nehemiah Project" a curriculum designed specifically to admonish, exhort and then educate pastors and church leaders on how to articulate social issues at the pulpit from a biblical perspective.  You would think this a no-brainer given these issues are about good versus evil, right versus wrong, but in an age where prosperity and blessing are the themes that drive church membership and the subsequent wealth from celebrity ministers that peddle books, tapes and conferences that promise blessing absent one's participation the message and purpose of the Gospel has been all but lost.  This is a battle I undertaken since my inception into radio.

The 2nd startling revelation was much more recent as I mentioned above and impacted me so much it caused me to surrender my calling as an armchair quarterback behind the microphone and take a place at the line of scrimmage in the sport of activism.  I am speaking of the revelation there exists today a massive lack of understanding by those confessing to be conservatives. Very few who claim the mantle can define what conservatism is much less articulate and defend its principles and values.  America has been weakened by the absence of the Church in battle but the war is being lost by those who choose to engage the enemy because they know not how to fight. This has allowed the left and their media lapdogs to successfully restructure the paradigms that for 2 1/2 centuries preserved our "...more perfect union," using deconstructive arguments to redefine what it means to be a conservative, which is the very premise and foundation of which our Republic was established. 

Today we watch the news trot out warmongering neocons, globalist establishment operatives and socioeconomic moderates under the guise of conservatism when their views agree with the leftist collective components and white racist nationalists when they don't (which seldom occurs actually). This cross-branding licenses attacks on real conservatives. We are now portrayed by not only almost all of the leftist propaganda machine but a good cross section of the Republican Party as "the extreme element" of the right. We are branded as racists, bigoted homophobes who want to keep women barefoot and pregnant, blacks in the inner cities and Muslims and Hispanics in the countries from which they came. 

This is what troubles me. The Conservative movement has no movement. It has no direction because it hasn't yet even figured out the game. It is consistently caught like a deer in the headlights, often left limping off the road after being struck to lick its wounds hoping to be left alone to heal before the wolves smell their blood and pounce.  With that I offer this discourse on conservatism. This is a series of blogs on the subject of conservatism. 

In a recent article at VOX, Editor-At-Large Ezra Klein recently penned another of his long winded commentaries titled; "What Donald Trump Understands About Conservatism." Here is an excerpt from that article with my response and comments.

“On February 23, President Donald Trump took the stage at the annual CPAC conference, the conservative movement’s premier event, and Trump had, in the past, felt dismissed by its leading lights. It was a slight he had no intention of letting his audience forget. “Do you remember I started running and people would say, ‘Are you sure he’s a conservative?’” Trump said. “I think now we’ve proved that I’m a conservative, right?” Their rapturous response was proof of his claim. Conservatism, writ large, has embraced Donald Trump. He is a conservative. But what, then, is conservatism?

In his book The Reactionary Mind: Conservatism from Edmund Burke to Donald Trump, political theorist Corey Robin offers a very particular definition of conservatism. It is, he says, “…the felt experience of having power, seeing it threatened, and trying to win it back.” In this telling, the core of conservatism is an attachment to a certain social order and an assault against those who would seek to upend it. Robin writes:

‘People who aren’t conservative often fail to realize this, but conservatism really does speak to and for people who have lost something. It may be a landed estate or the privileges of white skin, the unquestioned authority of a husband or the untrammeled rights of a factory owner. The loss may be as material as money or as ethereal [delicate] as a sense of standing. It may be a loss of something that was never legitimately owned in the first place; it may, when compared with what the conservative retains, be small. Even so, it is a loss and nothing is ever so cherished as that which we no longer possess.’

This is the way Trump is a conservative. On any given day, he may or may not express the policy views associated with the American right — he will muse about raising taxes on hedge funds, or passing gun control into law, or slapping deep tariffs on foreign steel. But Trump always and everywhere speaks for the experience of having power, of seeing it threatened, and of being determined to win it back. His project is not to make America great; it is to make America great again, to return to a past moment when he and the people at his rallies felt like they were winning. This is the core of his conservatism. And there is a reason it is flourishing now.”

POINT 1: Klein shrewdly uses Corey Robin’s assessment on conservatism to deconstruct and then redefine conservatism as an ideology premised on fear of change. Klein generalizes the difference between a conservative and a progressive is how they view the future. Conservatives fear losing their place in society whereas progressives seek socioeconomic equality as the means to eradicate fear. Klein does what the left has become so adept at doing; defining their opposition by terms and conditions that more truthfully apply to them by creating a perverted narrative.

This narrative contends it is conservatives who are not a real Americans (“That’s not who we are”, “Those are not our values”) but because of our “fear” we are; Racists, White Nationalists (Supremacists, Bigots, Homophobes and Neocons (Those who intervene in the affairs of others for power and profit).

The proper political term for this narrative is “creative destruction”. Creative destruction; creating a new ruling class through wealth redistribution by destroying the infrastructure that presently stands. Creative Destruction is the doctrine of collective ideologies and theologies, advanced through community organizing.

Saul Alinsky lists in his book, “Rules For Radicals” lists 13 rules for progressive organizing.  Rule #13: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Conservatism is the target. Those who embrace conservatism are the enemies of change and must be polarized, ostracized, exiled and eventually eradicated because they pose a threat to equality.

POINT 2: The reason the left has been so successful in advancing “creative destruction” is their ability to implement “identity politics.”Identity politics isn’t just about Republican versus Democrat. It’s about:·        
  • Men versus women
  • Minorities versus a white majority
  • Homosexuals versus heterosexuals
  • Adolescents versus adults
  • College educated versus blue collar workers
  • Rich versus the poor
  • Atheist versus Christian
  • Christian versus every other religion

In other words, it is about progressivism [modern liberalism] versus conservatism. Identity politics has placed America is in a constant defense mode which elicits emotion over reason and in turn has created a massive level of ignorance by those who claim the conservative mantel about what conservatism is what it represents and most importantly how to articulate it.  It is ignorance on par with progressivism. Because of this we have the Gruber Theorem: [the stupidity of the American voter] giving us the volatility that divides the country politically, ideologically and even theologically.​

POINT 3: So we must answer Ezra Klein’s question; “What Is Conservatism?”
Using excerpts from the American Affairs Journal "What Is Conservatism?" by Ofir Haivry, Yoram Hazony published on May 20, 2017

“The year 2016 marked a dramatic change of political course for the English-speaking world, with Britain voting for independence from Europe and the United States electing a president promising a revived American nationalism. Critics see both events as representing a dangerous turn toward “illiberalism” [lack of classical liberalism] and deplore the apparent departure from “liberal principles” or “liberal democracy,” themes that surfaced repeatedly in conservative publications over the past year.”

MY NOTE: "Classical liberalism" is an ideology advocating private property, an unhampered market economy, the rule of law, constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion and of the press, and international peace based on free trade. It is premised on the belief of the individual over collectivism.

[PARAPHRASED]  “It is now evident these liberal principles contribute little or nothing to those institutions that were for centuries the bedrock of the Anglo-American political order: nationalism, religious tradition, the Bible as a source of political principles and wisdom, and the family. Indeed, as liberalism has emerged victorious from the battles of the last century, the logic of its doctrines has increasingly turned liberals against all of these conservative institutions. On both of these fronts, the conservative and liberal principles of the Anglo-American tradition are now painfully at cross-purposes. The twentieth-century alliance between conservatism and liberalism is proving increasingly difficult to maintain.” [FROM CLASSIC TO MODERN LIBERALISM]

MY NOTE: Modern Liberalism: Also referred to as “social liberalism” Modern liberalism is a combination of social justice and mixed economy. It is the belief government has the responsibility to provide for “…life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” rather than the individual.

[PARAPHRASED] “Among the effects of the long alliance between conservatism and liberalism has been a tendency of political figures, journalists, and academics to slip back and forth between conservative terms and ideas and liberal ones as if they were interchangeable. And until recently, there seemed to be no great harm in this. Now, however, it is becoming obvious that this lack of clarity is crippling our ability to think about a host of issues, from immigration and foreign wars to the content of the Constitution and the place of religion in education and public life. In these and other areas, America, Britain, and their allies can neither recognize the difficulties ahead nor develop appropriate responses to them without a strong and intellectually capable conservatism. But to have a strong and intellectually capable conservatism, we must be able to see clearly what the Anglo-American conservative tradition is and what it is about. And to do this, we have to disentangle it from its old opponent—liberalism.”

MY NOTE:
Conservatism is:
  • Individualism over Collectivism, Opportunity over Entitlement
  • Responsibility/Accountability over Irresponsibility/Exemption
  • Principle over Compromise

Conservatism is not:
  • Repeal and Replace Obamacare
  • Infrastructure spending for freeways and schools
  • Subsidizing at any for level private business
  • Tax reform that shuffles numbers from one side of the ledger to another while increasing deficits
  • Legislation in any form that adjudicates social equality

It should now become a little easier to recognize, acknowledge and state Donald Trump is far from a conservative. While Ezra Klein may well be correct in his assessment Trump has hijacked conservatism by showing instances of conservative thought and action, Trump has for the most part represented the very essence of a moderate who interchanges ideology to fit an agenda. Anyone who claims to be a conservative need not become frantic but we do need to answer the call to defend what we conservatives really believe and represent. Only then can we realistically "Make America Great Again."
